Cooking Academy
It was a hard decision for me to write about this game. I can’t say that I like it. However, it is based on unique idea. And its perfect to learn how to cook, if they don’t cheat with the recipes 
When I saw this game today on Big Fish Games, I’ve thought that its another time management game like Diner Dash, where you need to cook for customers by mixing different ingredients like in Cake Mania (ah, my bad habit to compare one game with another, that you might not know…) But when I started the game – well, I was a bit disappointed because what I’ve seen was too far from what I’ve expected.
The goal of Cooking Academy is to make dishes by recipes from a culinary book. Once a dish is ready, you get a score for it. When you’ll make all recipes at least at “C”, you can enter the exams. See the picture above? That’s me slicing potatoes for one special recipe that I usually like to order in a local cafe. And thanks to this game, now I know how to make it at home.
Yes, there are plenty of good recipes in Cooking Academy. Some of them are easy to cook, while others requires time and patience. Its a nice recipe book packed by the simple gameplay into a game. And its much easier to remember the recipe when you try it in the game. So, Cooking Academy is not a game, but a fun and cheap recipe book.
What I don’t really like about this game is that its not very clear how to get a higher score, at least from the start. For some simple dishes, I made everything fast (even had time bonuses), I didn’t drop anything on the floor (yes, in this game you can drop something on the floor – so be careful!). But I never get “A”. If you’ll solve the mystery of scoring – please, write in comments about it.
Anyway, its always a pleasure to review something unique, which is not like the other games. And Cooking Academy is certainly different from the crowd. I am thinking about making some dishes from this game, so I probably get it – besides, its cheaper than many coulinary books. If you like to cook something tasty sometimes – check this game, maybe you’ll find something that will inspire you.

I did the free trial from Big Fish games. I made it through the whole first level, and recieved several A’s and even a few A+’s. I think that you have to get several time bonuses while preparing one meal and not make to many mistakes either. Dropping items on the floor and picking the wrong item to add will make it so that you can not get the time bonus or even complete the meal. I did enjoy the game, but it could have been a little different somehow.

That’s pretty strange… I tried this game on several computers and had no problems. Where did you get it? Maybe its a problem of the protection system?

I know about the grade thing and you said to make a comment so i did. First of all they have really high expectations{i kmow,i am on the dinner level} and it depends on how you do in the steps in the recipes, Like if you did somthing really bad in one step and you did the rest really god then you get a B or B- or a B+. Like I said they have high expectations,one time I did one recipe and I got 600 somthing out of a thousand and they failed Me!!!!!!! I hope this helps

Its a free country have started a censoration of the internet. And I don’t see any reasonable reason to block this blog =( But, unfortunately, it seems that I can’t do anything about it at the moment.
